Malaysia Government Looking into Taxing Online Businesses, including Uber & Grab Drivers

Malaysia MOF (Ministry of Finance) said that the department will look into taxing online businesses starting next year. Treasury Secretary-General Tan Sri Mohd Serigar Abdullad said yesterday (17.May.2016) the MOF had requested the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) to conduct a thorough evaluation of the matter.

The current taxable income is around the RM 3,000 to RM 4,000 per month.

Softinn suggest, for homestay or bed and breakfast business, to keep an income record of the rental business. Either report that as a personal income or business income (for those who register as business at SSM).
