🌸🌟 April is here, and with it comes fresh opportunities to elevate your hotel’s guest experience! This month, we’re thrilled to announce major updates to our Hotel Kiosk App, now running faster and smoother than ever — whether in desktop or kiosk mode. These enhancements are designed to make guest check-in, check-out, and other interactions seamless, intuitive, and more enjoyable for everyone.

We’re also preparing to launch Task, a brand-new tool aimed at helping hotel staff manage operations and daily tasks more efficiently. Stay tune.

PMS

New Features

  • Bulk reservation cancellation so users can cancel multiple bookings simultaneously to save time and streamline the management of group cancellations or emergency closures.

Improvements

  • Restrict changes to the “Others” booking source. Can only modify the commission rate and toggle active/inactive now so users don’t accidentally alter historical tracking.
  • Generate cleaning tasks upon checkout so no room stays dirty longer than necessary.
  • Prevent refunds for payments that already have a receipt on the folio page so that financial records remain consistent and to ensure that a receipt is properly voided or adjusted before a refund is issued.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug with the Daily Sales Summary report including an extra day in the Excel file when using the “Last Month” quick filter in the date picker to prevent overstating monthly revenue and causing accounting discrepancies.
  • Collection summary report not showing data in non-malaysian timezones to prevent data gaps for international properties and ensure accurate reporting across different regions.
  • Fix admin page errors for some users to prevent workflow interruptions and ensure consistent access to management tools.

Booking Engine

The new booking engine is here. This is a preview of the new booking engine. We’ve announced the launch of the hotel-facing UI a few months back. Log in to the booking engine v5 extranet here. Softinn will retire the booking engine v4 by 30.April.2026 31.May.2026 (extended dateline).

New Features

  • Booking Engine Header Customization so that hotels can better align the interface with their unique brand identity.

Improvements

  • Block guest booking payment for trial account so that trial users can test the system without processing real financial transactions prematurely.
  • Implement PMSxBE sync alert on Inventory and Calendar so staff are immediately notified of any synchronization gaps to prevent overbookings.
  • Add expiration label to Promo Code List so users can identify and manage inactive or expired discounts at a glance.
  • Add Marketing Campaign report button to Promo Code page so users can conveniently track the performance of their promotions without navigating away.

Bug Fixes

  • Fix the rounding issue when syncing a booking from Booking Engine to Property Management System to prevent price mismatches and balance discrepancies during guest check-in.
  • Fix typo in Generate URL modal to prevent professional branding inconsistencies and user confusion when sharing links.
  • Fix mobile view date picker calendar overflow out of the screen to prevent navigation issues and ensure a seamless booking experience for mobile users.
  • Fixed Booking List Excel incorrect booking values shown to prevent misleading financial analysis and incorrect reporting for hotel owners.
  • Fixed Admin change booking status error to prevent manual override failures and potential double-booking risks.
  • Fix activity log details not clickable in mobile view to prevent visibility gaps when staff are attempting to audit changes on the go.

FATboy Hotel Kiosk

New Features

  • Added guest policy acknowledgement & signature to ensure legal compliance and reduce liability during the booking process.
  • Allowing the hotel to set a different advertisement folder path so that marketing assets can be organized and retrieved from custom server locations.
  • Added notification centre to the desktop mode so that users can manage alerts and updates without leaving their current dashboard view.

Improvements

  • Reduce the memory usage and improve the performance of FATboy (10% reduction in memory usage and 5% reduction in file sizes) so the system runs more smoothly on older hardware and loads data faster for all users.
  • Added new colour themes – Amber, Coral, Burgundy, Forest, Mint, Rose Gold and Slate (Support 15 colour themes now) so hotels have more flexibility to match the system interface with their specific brand aesthetics.
  • Improve the response of the IM30 Credit Card terminal so front desk staff can process guest payments more quickly and reduce wait times during check-in.
  • Added another language – Espanol (Spanish). In total, the app supports nine languages so the platform is more accessible to international travelers and staff in Spanish-speaking regions.
  • Updated the UI of views so the navigation is more intuitive and provides a more modern user experience.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that prevented the screen from maximizing on multi-monitor setups to prevent layout distortions and ensure staff can view the full dashboard across all screens.

Task

We’re also preparing to launch Task, a brand-new tool aimed at helping hotel staff manage operations and daily tasks more efficiently. Task is the hub of all hotel tasks (e.g., housekeeping, work orders, etc.).

  • Update booking engine related links to point to booking engine so that all users are redirected to the latest, most secure version of the engine.
  • Remove Google & Hotmail login options so that the authentication process is streamlined and focused on more secure or relevant methods.

Bug Fixes

  • Fix page flickering when user login session expired to prevent visual confusion and ensure users are redirected to the login screen through a smooth, stable transition.

Account Portal

  • Added sales@mysoftinn.com to the alert in account detail page so the sales team is immediately looped in on critical account changes.
  • Changed booking@mysoftinn.com to account@mysoftinn.com in the alert in account detail page so that administrative notifications are routed to the correct department.
  • Switch booking engine URLs from https://booking.mysoftinn.com/ to https://be.mysoftinn.com/(including Book Now button) so that all traffic is consolidated under the new, shortened domain structure.
  • Update product hyperlinks on dashboard so users can navigate between tools more conveniently without having to manually search for the correct URLs.

Bug Fixes

  • Fix an issue with new Trial Hotel unable to create a booking in booking engine v5 to prevent onboarding delays and ensure new users can test the full booking flow immediately.
  • Remove live search on manage role page search bar to prevent accidental performance lags and unintended permission changes while typing.
