Overview of Booking Engine Rate & Availability page

Hello Softinn Booking Engine users. 

You can now easily manage your room rates, room availability, and many more settings all in one place with our BE Rate & Availability page.

Let’s check out this video to find out what you could do on the BE Rate & Availability page.

Overview of the Booking Engine Inventory page :


Step 1: Log in to your Softinn Extranet account.

Step 2: Choose the correct property.

Step 3: Go to the Rate & Availability tab. 

Step 4: You will find two views, Table View and Calendar View:

a) Let’s explore the Table View first

  • It shows you the rates and availability for all the active room types and the mapped rate plans.
  • You can see how many units of rooms have been occupied, how many units of BE booked, and how many were PMS blocked (if you are using Softinn PMS too).
  • The days in yellow ribbon is your “Weekend”.
  • The “Quick Update” button will show you a menu list of actions that you could set at the Inventory page.
  • The “Holidays” button shows the list of public holidays that have been set by the system.
  • For each action setting you select at the “Quick Update” button, you may choose to apply the updates to all the days within the selected date range, apply the updates to public holidays ONLY, apply the updates to the selected days AND public holidays, or apply the updates to the selected days EXCEPT public holidays.
  • Besides that, within your selected date range, you could also choose to bulk update for weekdays or weekends only.

Steps to apply a discount to a rate plan of a room type on the BE Inventory page. 

Step 1: Click on the “Quick Update” button to apply the discount as you defined. 

Step 2: Set to Rates and then choose Discount.

Step 3: To view the row for discount, you can click on the Advanced filter and tick “Discount” checkbox. Once checked, you shall see the row with Discount showing in the table.

Steps on how to update the room availability on this page

Step 1: You may use the same method as applying a discount to update the availability.

Step 2: Besides, you may select the date or date range directly on the rates and availability table to update the rates and restrictions.

Step 3: Once done, click “Save” to save the changes.

Step 4: To stop accepting bookings, use the Stop-sell restriction to block any bookings from being made for a certain date or date range. The selected date will be in the colour red once the Stop-Sell restriction has been enabled. 

In addition to the above, from the BE Rates & Availability page, you can also update the Minimum Stay, Maximum stay, and also Maximum BE Selling Unit for a date or a date range, as you wish, through the Quick Update button as well.  

b) Next, let’s explore the Calendar View.

On this page, you can view the availability in the calendar view for each room type.

Step 1: Click on the duration.

Step 2: Here, you can choose to view the calendar for the next 6 months, first half of the year, second half of the year or the whole year.

Step 3: Click on the room type to select which room type you want to view.

Step 4: You may click on the dates on the calendar to update the availability and stop sell restrictions for the particular room type.
