Scenario: You need to collect additional information from guests during the booking process (e.g., their vehicle plate number for parking, flight details, or dietary restrictions). You can add a custom input field to the Guest Details page to capture this data before they complete their reservation.

Steps to Build a Custom Booking Link Follow the steps below:

Phase 1: Configure the Custom Field

• Step 1: Log in to the Softinn Booking Engine and select the correct property.

• Step 2: Click on Other Setup from the main menu.

• Step 3: Under the settings options, click on Guest Details Form.

• Step 4: To add your custom field, toggle the status to Enable.

• Step 5: Fill in the Field Label to name the input box (e.g., type “Vehicle Plate Number”).

• Step 6: Fill in the Field Description to provide a helpful placeholder text for the guest (e.g., type “ABC7896”).

• Step 7: (Optional) If this information is critical and the guest cannot check out without providing it, toggle the Required switch to on.

Phase 2: Preview and Save

• Step 8: Review the Preview panel on the right side of the screen to verify how the field will visually look to your guests.

• Step 9: Click Save to push the field live to your Booking Engine checkout form.

How it Works After Saving

• The Guest’s Point of View: When a guest proceeds to fill in their details during checkout, your new field (e.g., Vehicle Plate Number) will appear exactly where you configured it. If marked as required, they must fill it out to proceed to the payment step.

• In Your Records: Once the booking is finalized, the captured information will automatically sync and display clearly inside that specific reservation’s booking details page for your staff to review.

Notes: Keep your Field Description brief! Using it to show a clear formatting example (like a mock license plate number or time format) ensures guests enter their information correctly.
