How to Remove or Reduce Number of Rooms on Softinn Account Portal (For PMS Users)?


Follow the guidelines below:

Step 1 : First of all, you have to make sure the existing rooms that you wish to deactivate are cleared from any future reservations. For example, I want to deactivate 301.

Step 2 : Before deactivation, go to the PMS Calendar page, check if there’s any upcoming reservations assigned to 301.

Step 3 : Since there’s one reservation assigned to this room, you need to re-assign the reservation to another room of the same room type.

Step 4 : Drag-and-drop the reservation to another room.

Step 5 : Check that all details are correct and click ‘Save Changes’.

Step 6 : Other than reservation, you need to make sure the room is cleared from any type of allocations too. For example, cleaning, maintenance and miscellaneous allocation.

Step 7 : In this example, you have one miscellaneous allocation attached to 301.

Step 8 : To remove the allocation, right click on the allocation and click ‘Remove Allocation’.

Step 9 : Once you have checked and made sure the room is free from any future reservations or any allocations, proceed to login to Softinn Account Portal.

Step 10 : Choose the right property.

Step 11 : Click on ‘Room Type’.

Step 12 : Look for the affected room type.

Step 13 : Click on ‘Action’, then choose ‘Edit Room Number’.

Step 14 : Then, proceed to deactivate the affected room number, which in this case is 301.

Step 15 : Next, go back to the Previous Page.

Step 16 : Look for Standard Queen again to edit the room details.

Step 17 : Make sure to reduce the number of built unit and default allotment too.

Step 18 : Once done, click ‘Save’.

Step 19 : Then, go back to the PMS Calendar page.

Step 20 : You shall see that the room number has been removed from the Calendar page.
Then, go to the PMS Inventory Page.

Step 21 : Click the ‘Sync From PMS Calendar’ button so the availability in the PMS Inventory page will be updated accordingly, following the latest availability you have on the PMS Calendar page.

Step 22 : Once this is clicked, the updated availability will be synced to all the connected OTAs, if you are using channel manager.

Step 23 : The availability will also be updated to the direct booking engine, if you are using Softinn Booking Engine.
