Hello Softinn PMS Users!

Scenario: A guest (e.g., John) is staying for multiple nights (e.g., 3 nights in a Presidential Suite from October 30th to November 2nd), but you need to divide their booking into two separate reservations—for example, to move them to a different room type halfway through their stay or bill distinct nights to separate accounts.

Steps to Split a Reservation :

Phase 1: Enable Split Mode

• Step 1: Log in to Softinn PMS and select the correct property.
• Step 2: Click Calendar on the top navigation bar to open the calendar view.
• Step 3: At the top right of the calendar page, click the three-dot button (…).
• Step 4: Select Split Reservation from the dropdown menu to enter Split Mode. (A bar will appear at the bottom of the screen confirming split mode is active).

Phase 2: Configure & Confirm the Split

• Step 5: Locate and click directly on the guest’s reservation bar on the calendar grid (e.g., John’s booking in room VR007).
• Step 6: The Split Reservation panel will slide open on the right side of the screen displaying guest details, room type, and total night counts.
• Step 7: Set the division point using one of two methods:
  • Select the date under Split From Date (e.g., choose 31 Oct 2026 to make the remaining 2 nights a new reservation segment).
  • OR drag the interactive Drag to split slider bar directly to your target date.
• Step 8: Click Save.
• Step 9: When the confirmation prompt appears, click Yes, Split it.

Phase 3: Verify & Exit

• Step 10: The calendar will refresh to show two distinct, side-by-side reservation bars (e.g., Segment 1 for 1 night, and Segment 2 for 2 nights).
• Step 11: Click Exit at the top bar or press the Esc key on your keyboard to turn off Split Mode.

Notes: Splitting a reservation generates a second unique reservation/folio number for the newly created segment. This makes it easy to assign a different physical room or apply separate billing settings to each portion of the stay without affecting the original booking history.
