How to Setup Up-sell with Add-on Feature for your Hotel / Homestay

Hello Softinn Extranet user! 

Do your guests often ask if you offer complimentary or additional services to their room bookings? For example, car rentals, extra mattresses or even breakfast?

In Softinn Extranet, you could add additional services through our upsell feature.

Steps to Setup Up-sell with Add-on Feature for your Hotel / Homestay


Follow the guidelines below:

Step 1 : Login to Softinn Extranet.

Step 2 : Select the correct property.

Step 3 : Go to the “Booking Engine” and select “Upsell“.

Step 4 : Click “Create Upsell Service” to create a new upsell.

Step 5 : Select the preferred charge type, either one-off charge or per room nights.

Step 6 : Name your add-on service.

Step 7 : Include the description and terms and conditions for your add-on service.

Step 8 : Upload photos for your add-ons.

Step 9 : Set the price for your add-on service.

Step 10 : Turn on the toggle to show this as a discounted price if the price inserted was a discounted price.

Step 11: Set the purchase limit per booking, if any.

Step 12: Select the minimum pax allowed per booking, if any.

Step 13: You may add your hotel front desk or hotel manager’s email address for them to receive the upsell notification requested by your guest.

Step 14: Once done, click “Save“.

Step 15: The add-on service will appear in the list of upsells.

Step 16: Click “View Record” to view the Request record for this upsell.

Step 17: You can view the add-ons details here.

Step 18: Alternatively, you can click “View Upsell Requests” to view the request record for all upsell services.

Step 20: Your guest could view the upsell items from three places.

3 Places Your Guest Could View the Upsells Items : 


Follow the guidelines below:

1. For Booking Payment Collected by Softinn: 

  • On the page after booking has been successfully made.

2. For Booking Payment Collected by Host (ABB):

  • On the page after Booking Request has been sent.

3. From Booking Email:

  • Click on “Print Ticket” button. Guests will be redirected to a page with Check-in Details and Extra Add Ons selection.

Where to View Your Hotel Guest Add-On Service Request : 


After your guest has submitted the add-on request, your guest will be receiving a pending confirmation email which means that their request will be pending for confirmation by the hotel.

Follow the guidelines below:

1. View Guest Add-On Request on Softinn Extranet : 

Step 1 : Return to “Upsells” section page. 

  • You could view the No. of Request for each Upsells that you’ve created.

Step 2 : Go to the  “Add On Request Record” section. 

  • You can see the list of add-on requests from your hotel guest.
  • Click on the guest name and your shall find the guest’s contact details in the booking summary on the right of your screen.

Step 3 : Click the guest’s name to view their room Booking Summary.

  • You could contact your guest directly to discuss the add-on service requested.

Step 4 : Tick “Informed Guest after confirming the Add On service to your guest.

2. View Guest Add-On Request in Email Notification.

  • You could contact your guest directly to discuss the add-on service requested.

Important Note:

  • Hotels or Hosts have to collect the payment from guests directly for the Add-On services requested.
  • It will NOT be collected by Softinn.
