Hello Softinn PMS users! Softinn PMS has added a new feature for system default settings.
Hotel can now customize their default settings for security deposits on Softinn PMS. We believe by having this, it saves you a few clicks and your time when recording security deposit in Softinn PMS.
Security Deposits are the refundable amount paid by the guests to the hotels as insurance. It serves as a guarantee for the hotel for any incidental charges incurred by the guest during their stay.
After the guests make payment, the receipt is generated and provided to the guest. Usually, the guests need to present the receipt to the front office in order to get a refund of the security deposit when they check out from the hotel.

Steps to Set Default Security Deposit for Reservation on Softinn PMS:
Follow the guidelines below:
Step 1 : Login to Softinn PMS.
Step 2 : Select the right property.
Step 3 : Click on ‘Others‘.
Step 4: Go to ‘Setup‘ and click on ‘System Settings‘
- By default, only Lodge Owner and Lodge Manager have the access to edit the Default System Settings. Please contact your supervisor if you want access to edit these settings.
Step 5 : Click on the ‘Security Deposit‘ tab.
Step 6 : Tick on ‘Yes, apply this default setting‘ to apply the default values when security deposit is collected.
Step 7 : Choose the default payment method and payment account when recording the security deposit, if needed.
Step 6 : Click ‘Save Changes‘.
Note:
- The system will capture the changes made to the default preference settings.
- Click “View Activity Log” button to view ‘Who-Did-What-at-When’ for the changes in the System Settings.
