How to Remove or Deactivate Room Type in PMS

Hello  Softinn PMS  users!

This video is particularly relevant if the Property Management Company has to surrender the units back to the property developer, or the hotel re-organize the layout of the room to other room types.

Steps to Remove or Deactivate Room Type in Softinn PMS:


Follow the guidelines below:

Step 1 : If you are using Channel Manager, you need to deactivate the room type on each of your OTAs’ Extranet first.

Step 2 : Then, go to Softinn PMS.

Step 2 : Select the right property.

Step 3 : Go to ‘PMS Calendar‘ page.

Step 4 : Make sure the existing rooms that you wish to deactivate are cleared from any future reservations. Drag and drop the reservations to another room type.

Step 4 : Make sure the existing rooms that you wish to deactivate are cleared from any allocations. For example, cleaning, maintenance and miscellaneous allocation. Right click on the allocation and click ‘Remove Allocation‘.

Step 5 : Once done, go to ‘Setup‘.

Step 6 : Click on ‘Room‘.

Step 7 : Click on ‘Room Type & No.‘.

Step 8 : Deactivate the all the room numbers of this room type.

Step 9 : Scroll up to the Room Type section. Reduce the number of rooms of the affected room type to 0.

Step 10 : Then, deactivate the room type.

Note :

  • The room number will be removed from the ‘PMS Calendar‘ page.

Step 11 : If you are using channel manager, you have to remove the channel mapping for this room type. Go to ‘Booking Source & Connectivity‘ page.

Step 12 : Scroll down to the Channel Mapping Section. Click ‘Map‘ on one of the OTAs.

Step 13 : Select the affected room type.

Step 14 : Click ‘Unmap‘.

Step 15 : Once done, you will see the notification ‘Rate Plan Unmapped Successfully‘. Repeat the same for other OTAs, if any.
