How to Add a Guest to the Blacklist on Softinn Booking Engine

Hello Softinn BE Users!

Assume you need to prevent problematic or fraudulent guests from making future reservations through your direct booking channel. By blacklisting their details, the system will automatically block them during the checkout process before a booking can be finalized.

Steps to Blacklist a Guest Follow the steps below:

  • Step 1: Log in to the Softinn Booking Engine and select the correct property.

  • Step 2: Click on Other Setup from the main menu.

  • Step 3: Under the All Settings section, click on Blacklist.

  • Step 4: Click the Create Blacklist button to open the configuration form.

  • Step 5: Fill in the guest’s identifying details (such as email or phone number).

  • Step 6: (Optional) Choose an expiration date if you want the block to be temporary, or leave it blank to make the blacklist permanent. You can also type a specific reason for the block in the notes field.

  • Step 7: Click Save. The guest will now appear on your active blacklist dashboard.

Managing the Blacklist & Guest Experience

  • Modifying Status: If you need to make changes later, click the Action button next to the guest’s name to Edit, Unblock, or Delete them from the list.

  • The Guest’s Point of View: When a blacklisted individual attempts to book a room using any of their flagged details, the Booking Engine will automatically halt the transaction. They will be entirely blocked from proceeding to the payment page.

Notes: Ensure you input accurate contact information (like exact email addresses or phone numbers) when creating a blacklist entry. The system relies on matching these specific data fields to catch and block the user successfully.

Hope this guide helps you effectively secure your property against unwanted bookings using the Softinn Booking Engine!
