Scenario: A guest has checked out, and you need to release the held funds (security deposit) from their credit card. This ensures the guest’s credit limit is restored and maintains a positive guest experience.
Steps to Release Pre-authorized Payments
Follow the step below :
Step 1: Log in into Admin Mode on the FATboy Kiosk.
Step 2: From the admin dashboard, select the Credit Card button.
Step 3: Choose the RELEASE PRE-AUTH button from the menu.
Step 4: Find the guest’s record by browsing the list or using the Search function to look up a specific Reservation or Folio number.
Step 5: Once the correct booking is identified, click the Release Pre-Auth button to confirm.
Step 6: The credit card terminal will process the request; wait for the screen to show a Success notification.
Step 7: Once finished, return the Kiosk to the Home Page.
Notes: This feature is only available on the latest version of the FATboy app. If you do not see the “Release Pre-Auth” button, please contact support for a software update.
