How to Close Room from Booking for OTAs While Remain Open for Direct Booking Engine?

Hello Softinn subscribers.

This guide is only applicable to Softinn subscribers who use Softinn Booking Engine, PMS, and Channel Manager.

In this video, you will find out how to close rooms from booking for OTAs while remain it open for booking on your Direct Booking Engine

Scenario : Your hotel would like to reserve today’s King Bed Room for your Direct Booking Engine and NOT selling it for OTAs today.

Steps to Close Room from Booking for OTAs While Remain Open for Direct Booking Engine :


Follow the guidelines below:

Step 1 : Go to Softinn PMS

Step 2 : Select the correct property

Step 3 : To go to the PMS Inventory page, you can click on the β€œInventory” tab.

Step 4 : From the PMS Inventory page, you could edit the room availability to be pushed to OTAs

Step 5 : To reduce the availability push to OTAs, click on the β€œgreen lightning” icon beside the Availability (OTA). 

Step 6 : And then, you will see the Quick Update popup box. Please make sure that the setting option is for β€œAvailability”. Next, fill in the availability to Zero and also choose the correct date applied.

Step 7 : Once done, click on the β€œUpdate” button. Now, you shall see that the availability has been updated to Zero.

Note :

  • Closing the availability to OTAs on the Inventory page WILL NOT affect your Direct Booking Engine availability.
  • Your Booking Engine extranet shall sync with the PMS Calendar.
  • On Extranet Calendar, you shall see the room still have units available to be booked from Direct Booking Engine. Hence, your guest could still book the room from your direct Booking Engine.
