Introduction to Softinn Promo Code System

Hello, Softinn Booking Engine users!

Softinn Promo Code system offers you a Lazada-liked promo code system that helps hotelier in terms of creating promo code with specified criteria, managing the promotion usage, and analyzing the promotion performance.

This guide serves as a a humble introduction to Softinn Promo Code System with details guidelines for you as a reference guide when you fill in your promo code form on Softinn Extranet for your promotion campaign.

Introduction to Softinn Promo Code System


Follow the guidelines below:

Step 1 : Log in to Softinn Extranet 

Step 2 : Select the correct property

Step 3 : Go to ‘MORE’

Step 4 : Then, scroll down the page and select ‘Create Promo Code’ tool (as shown in picture below)

Step 5 : You will be directed to the ‘Promotions’ page. Click on the  ‘+’  button

NOTE: If you have created promo code before, the list of promo codes created previously will be showed on this page as well.

Step 6 : Fill up the information in the pop-up window – Add Promotion. Make sure to fill up the required info, the one with red asterisk (*) mark  (shown in the picture below).

NOTE: Please refer to Additional Promo Code Form Guide (at the bottom of this article) if you are not sure what it means.

Step 7 : Click on “Save Changes” and then click on ‘Yes, add now!’

Step 8 : The system will trigger a ‘Done’ message indicates that you have successfully created a new promo code.

Field NameDescription
Promotion Type:There are three types of promotions:
  1. Basic
    • There is no condition set for when guests should make booking before their check-in date.
  2. Early Bookers
    • This promotion type is to encourage guests to make early bookings. It is for Early Birds promotional campaign.
    • You set the number of days before check-in date for guests to be eligible for the promotion.
    • Eg. If you set 14 days before check-in date, only guests who book at least 14 days before the check-in date will enjoy discounts from the promo code.
  3. Last Minute
    • This promotion type is for guests who prefer last minute bookings.
    • You set the number of days until the check-in date for guests to be eligible for the promotion.
    • Eg. If you set 2 days until check-in date, only guests who book 2 or 1 day before check-in will get the discount. Guests who book 3 or more days before the check-in date will not get to enjoy the discount.
Issuer:There are two types of issuers:
  1. Merchant Issuer:
    • Choose this option to create your promo codes.
    • Softinn’s transaction charges will be calculated after the given discount. For example:
      • Promo Code = DISCOUNT10
      • Discount Amount = $10
      • Booking Value = $100
      • Customer Pay = 100 – 10 = $90
      • Softinn transaction charges = 12%
      • Softinn transaction charges = 90 * 12% = $10.80
      • Hotel / Merchant / Villa get = 90 – 10.80 = $79.20
  2. Softinn Issuer:
    • This option is NOT available for merchant. It’s only use by Softinn to create promo codes which the discount is absorb by Softinn.
    • Softinn’s transaction charges will absord the discount given. For example:
      • Promo Code = DISCOUNT10
      • Discount Amount = $10
      • Booking Value = $100
      • Customer Pay = 100 – 10 = $90
      • Softinn transaction charges = 12%
      • Softinn transaction charges = 100 * 12% = $12.00
      • Hotel / Merchant / Villa get = 100 – 12.00 = $88.00
      • NOTE: Softinn absorb $10 discount given to customer.
Status:Two status option:
  1. Active: For active running campaigns.
  2. InActive: For inactive campaign. Customer can’t apply the promo codes if it’s in InActive status.
Name:Name of the promotion. This name will be showed on the promotion widget.
Promotion Code:Promo code for customer to key in when they book to get discount.
Discount:Discount value put as percentage (%) or rate / amount ($).
  1. Percentage (%): Discount will be given in percentage.
  2. Rate / Amount ($): Discount will be given in rates.
Total Quantity:How many times promo code can be used. Set the limit of eligible claims of your promotion.
Promotion Start From:It is the promotion validity period. Set the eligible booking date. For example:
  • Promotion Start from 01.Jan.2017
  • To 31.Jan.2017
  • The above mean that the customer is allowed to use the promo codes if he makes the booking within 01.Jan.2017 to 31.Jan.2017, regardless of the check-in date.

Use this field if you are running a campaign where you wanted your customer to booking within this period. If you wanted this promo codes to be available for check-in all year long, we suggest to set the limit at least within 12 months.

Allow Check-In From:Limit the eligibility of the check-in and check-out date that entitle the discount. For example:
  • Allowed Check-in Start from 01.May.2017
  • To 02.May.2017
  • The above mean that the customer is allowed to use the promo codes for the booking that check in within 01.May.2017 and check-out on 02.May.2017, regardless of the time they make the booking.

Use this field if you are running a campaign where you wanted specify the check-in date and check-out date. You could use this to run discount during your low season. If you wanted this promo codes to be available for check-in all year long, we suggest to set the limit at least within 12 months.

Minimum Booking Rate:Minimum fees to activate the promo code.
Minimum Nights:Minimum night stay to activate the promo code.
Max Nights:Maximum night stay eligible for the promo code.
Eligible Room Types:Choose from the options if the promo code only applicable to specific room type. Leave it empty if you want the promo codes to be applicable to all room types.
Eligible Days:Choose from the options if the promo code only applicable on a specific day. Leave it empty if you want the promo codes to be application to all days (Monday – Sunday).
Apply Public Holiday:Is the promo code applicable during public holiday? Set to “No” if you do not want the promo codes to be applicable during public holidays (e.g. to optimize your revenue).
Apply Discounted Rates:Is the promo code applicable with other special promotion? Set to “No” if you do not want the promo codes to be applicable on top of the discounted prices given in the system. Otherwise, customer could enjoy further discount using the promo codes on top of the original given discounted rates.
Cancellation PolicyChoose from the options if the promo codes are subjected to the cancellation policy.
Set this promotion for private use only:Is the promo code for private use only? Set to “No” if you want your promotion to appear on LGH promotions page.
If you click “Yes”, it means your promo code will not be auto-applied on Softinn Booking engine. Set to “Yes” only when you want to run your promotion privately
Unique Code:There are two options:
  1. Yes: That means unique promo codes will be given. For example:
    • DISCOUNT10-a1n312
    • DISCOUNT10-asdfsaf
    • DISCOUNT10-li2342ll
    • System will generate this automatically based on the “Total Quantity” set.
  2. No: That means only one promo code given. For example:
    • DISCOUNT10
